The latest Fujifilm cameras, the X-T5, and the X-H2 (my camera) have the 40 megapixel (MP) X-Trans sensor. When combined with the high quality Fujinon lenses, these cameras can produce images of such high quality that there can be no question of their exceptionalism.
I have taken a series of photos that illustrate this using the X-H2 mounted on a tripod at the same location. Lenses ranged from the Fujinon 8mm prime lens to the 100-400mm telephoto zoom. The photos were taken at a church because a wide open space was essential for this demonstration.
This photo shows the field of view of the Fujinon 8mm ultra wide angle lens. Notice how there is no distortion and all the lines look straight.
This photo shows the field of view of the Fujinon 10-24mm wide angle zoom lens at 10mm. Once again, no distortion. But notice how big a difference 2mm makes at this focal length.
This is field of view at 55mm. Take note of the Bible at the center of the frame, barely visible with the wide angle lenses.
At 100mm, the Bible starts to become the subject of the photo.
At 400mm, you can start making out the text on the pages. But on this webpage, it’s too small to read so we need to crop in.
Here, the previous image is cropped to fill the frame width with one column of text. Remember, All five images were taken from the same spot at the back of the church.
